Review: 1. Lies2. Cheap service3. Costly misdiagnosisThis is my second time going to him. The first time he helped me pass my emissions test (major nightmare for me prior to giving up and going to a pro). This time I took my 1994 Isuzu Trooper in & paid about $160.00 for Luis from Andres Auto Repair Service to do some troubleshooting after I had my transmission allegedly "rebuilt" by National Transmission Technologies on Grand east of Pulaski. National Trans actually reamed me a new @$$hole (pardon my inability to spell that correctly), for $1709.00 to rebuild my transmission for the alleged 2nd time and I STILL had the exact same problems. Well Luis found out that the problem was actually a sensor circuit on my engine NOT my transmission that was causing trouble with shifting. Luis took his time, didn't try to push for unnecessary repairs. Luis was honest of what may need to be done and dipomatically confirmed that my truck was garbage (LOL). I'm out $160.00 with him but I should have gone to him first, I would have saved the $1709.00 and maybe even decided to keep the lousy truck. I left there feeling like I'd just spoken with a shrink (hence the $160 counseling session), he's very friendly, he is VERY thorough with his note taking on repairs and provides understandable explanations of what is going on.Now I'm fighting against National Trans for my money back (Good thing I have great documentation and credit card). But please, you get what you paid for if you go to Luis you may hurt a bit but he's gotta eat too! At least you won't have to dump MORE money anywhere else.

A mechanic that I trust

Review: I trust Luis to take care of me and my car. This shop has calmed my concerns about our car and it is now at 230K miles and is still humming along.\r\rWhat I like the most is that they stand behind their work. If anything is not done to my satisfaction, they have always worked diligently to make sure my concerns are taken care of. \r\rHighly recommended.

Fair Honest and Good Work

Review: I have a 2003 Jaguar XJR. It's well out of warranty and spent most of 2010 bleeding money. I kept taking it back to the dealer who kept charging me outrageous dealer prices to fix it. Finally, I got so tired of paying these costs that I started doing research on parts, hours of labor per fix, etc before bringing my car in for repair. After comparing 6 shops prices, Andre's offered me the best price. They ended up doing great work. Luis is a fair and honest guy who did what ever he could to keep my costs down.I highly recommend working with these guys.

Quality, Honest, Personable!

Review: Quality, Honest, Personable. I own a 2001 Audi 2.8 A4 Quattro. A very nice vehicle in my opinion and I absolutely love it. I take great care of my vehicles and try to keep them in tip-top shape, so choosing a repair shop other than the dealership was hard for me to do. I didn't have time to shop around and because of the condition our economy is in right now I really didn't have the money to take it to a dealership. After researching shops online I came across Andres Auto Service. Based off the reviews of the shop, I thought I would take a chance and try them out. When I got there with my vehicle in-tow I noticed something. From the outside, the building looked old and run-down, almost as if the business was closed. I have to admit I was thinking I made a bad decision and almost went to a different shop. Soon after we pulled up, a young man came from a vehicle parked on the side of the street. It turns out it was the shop owners son and the shop was closed, but he pointed me to his father, Luis, and took my car in. After entering his shop I was kind of impressed. There were different kinds of vehicles from Mercedes, VW's to Audi's up on hydraulic jacks and nice equipment inside. I was starting to feel a little more relieved. I explained to Luis that I was having a power loss issue and told him that I noticed a fan that was staying on in the front right after turning my vehicle off. Worst case scenario I would need a new computer board. It turns out they only needed to reprogram the computer board and clean up some corroded wires, they also fixed my turn signals. Total cost of repair $655.48. Much less than what I would have expected to pay for at a dealership. A side note, I took my vehicle to Fletcher Jones Audi and they didn't even look over my vehicle and told me something completely different than what was wrong with my vehicle tried to charge me fifty some dollars for doing jack-shit, I was livid! I made them get the mechanic and show me where this repair was and caught him in a straight out lie, they were red in the face and dropped the charges. I was very pleased with the service from Andres Auto Service. Luis is a very nice individual. He explained to me why the outside of his business doesn't look that great and it makes sense. He would rather spend his money on good shop equipment and service than waste it on the outside appearance of his shop, that to me shows he's interested in performing quality work and addressing his customers needs. I will definitely take my Audi back to this shop for future repairs and I highly recommend Andres Auto Service. Thank you Luis for great service!

Very, very bad service!

Review: I took my car there relaying on the reviews. I have a Audi that just came out of extended warranty. The problem was a check engine light on the dash and I had to pass the emission test. The owner told me it is a oxygen sensor and it will cost me about $300. OK , I agreed to do the job and picked up my car two days later. On my way home the light came on again, I didn't have to drive it for more than an hour! I took the car back to see if maybe they disconnect something. They looked at the car, cleared the codes and let me go telling me that sometimes you just have to drive the car for a while. What a joke! On my way home the light came on again! I was so mad that I pulled to the first auto shop I saw. The mechanic checked the car and told me that they changed the wrong sensor! I had to pass the test so I just told the guy to change the right one but make sure it will fix the car! They said that they are sure and if the car is not fixed I will not have to pay. What a relief! They changed the sensor and the light stayed off for a month now so I guess it is fixed. As far as Andres Auto Repair goes, I will never go there again. Not only they cost me $300 but treated me very rudely!
